  • Description of Muldoon's Irish Pub

    - Feb 29, 2008 7:19:03 PM

There are many Irish bars in New York not frequently by people who have lived in Ireland (or had relatives who lived in Ireland) but it's interesting to see exactly who the decor at least attracts. One Tuesday night Muldoon's was full of frat dudes, but regulars swear there is usually more of an interesting mix.

  • Description of The Original Soup Man

    - Feb 29, 2008 7:16:59 PM

At one point does not being an original but still calling yourself one become annoying to New Yorkers? No one really seems convinced about who the original soup dude is, but you can find good soup here, so perhaps that is original enough.

  • Description of Blarney Stone

  • Description of Third and Long

    - Feb 29, 2008 1:42:13 PM

So perhaps it's not exceedingly hard detective work to figure out that this place is a sports bar, but it's a sports bar with a secret: people dance here on weekends.

  • Description of Carl’s Steaks

    - Feb 29, 2008 1:40:56 PM

And by "steaks" they mean "cheesesteaks" which of course are very tasty, but really different than a t bone. it's important to know these things in advance. They also deliver.

  • Description of Blockheads

    - Feb 29, 2008 1:38:50 PM

Something about this simple burrito place inspires breathtaking loyalty from its patrons. Perhaps there is something extra special in the sauce, or perhaps it just reads "won't you by neighbor" all over it.

  • Description of Iron Sushi

    - Feb 29, 2008 1:25:06 PM

This 3rd avenue destination caters to vegetarians, that is, the REAL vegetarians who don't eat fish. Great even for carnivores because of their veggie ingredients taste so fresh.

  • Description of Dip Bar lounge and fondue

    - Feb 29, 2008 1:23:31 PM

Fondue seems less a style of food than a way of eating it which, by the way, is very messy. Perhaps this shouldn't be combined with drinking, which is what makes Dip so interesting; no one seems to care.

  • Description of Shear Bliss

    - Feb 29, 2008 1:21:38 PM

  • Description of Copolla's

    - Feb 29, 2008 1:19:06 PM

  • Description of Dashing Diva

    - Feb 29, 2008 11:53:19 AM

You'd never know this east village nail place is actually a chain; the personal service and relaxed atmosphere is more common amongst the mom and pop variety of pedicure palaces.

  • Description of Hattan Cleaners

    - Feb 29, 2008 11:50:14 AM

    - Feb 29, 2008 11:36:28 AM

  • Description of Bar None

    - Feb 29, 2008 11:33:43 AM

  • Description of Blue Nine Burger

    - Feb 29, 2008 9:36:15 AM

This east village metroplex (if seven theaters can be called a metroplex) is quieter than many other theaters in town, especially the ones near midtown where every movie is an audience participation adventure. See first run movies here when they open and you'll still be able to hear the dialogue...mostly.

  • Description of Citi Habitats

    - Feb 29, 2008 9:32:21 AM

New York realty brokers (which are almost always apartment brokers, except for brokers that specialize in commercial places) get a bad rap. A very bad rap, mostly because their fees are so crazy expensive. However, if you're pressed for time, moving from out of town, or looking for something specific in a specific neighborhood, the folks at Citi might just make your life a whole lot easier.
